Leïla KEBIR is Professor of Tourism and Territorial Economics at the Institute of Geography and Sustainability, University of Lausanne, Sion. Trained as an economist, she works in the field of territorial development in the context of globalization and, more recently, ecological transition. She is particularly interested in territorial resources and how production and innovation are organized.

Over the last few years, I’ve been developing a new line of research in the analysis of the new commons. In particular, since May I’ve had the opportunity to coordinate the COMMOUNT project (FNS), which focuses on new mountain commons (self-managed ski lifts, community stables, associative grocery stores or cafés, etc.) and how they relate (or not) to the “historical commons” that persist in mountain regions.
