Jacques works on the effects of climate change on high mountain environments and the sports practices that take place there, particularly mountaineering, with the objective of acquiring and making available to actors and institutions in the field knowledge that promotes the implementation of adaptive behavior.
UNIL - CIRM
I started to work on the effects of climate change on mountaineering during my PhD thesis, defended in 2019 at the University Savoie Mont Blanc. Today I continue to work on this theme at the Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche sur la montagne (CIRM) of the University of Lausanne, opening my work to the Valaisan Alps. I am also a Mountain Leader, mainly in mediation and awareness of the effects of climate change.
